This boy was praying for one of his basketball team mates that continually shows no interest for the things of God. They desperately wanted the little boy to love Jesus. 

Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25
