Sweet Caroline turns One!!

DSC_0488  Sweet Caroline is One  I really really can’t believe this sweet baby is already one. She is the funniest, sweetest, cutest little thing. I could just eat her little legs up, her squishy face grin makes my day, and I think her baby steps are the cutest thing.

We thought we wanted more than one child, but God graciously surprised us with this little girl. You made life with 5 fairly easy. Since the day you were born, you’ve just been along for the ride. You’ll go to just about anyone, rarely fussy, and love to smile and giggle. You are one of the most content babies I’ve ever been around.  Along with your go with the flow attitude, you are very quick to pick up on things-crawling at 6 months lead to walking at 10 months. You simply grew up too fast! You certainly were not one we held for very long, you’ve been on the go for most of your infancy. 20140709-D70_8224

Many people say you look like your daddy and other’s say you look like Big Buddy. Either way you are most definitely a Perdue.DSC_0481

Mommy and Daddy couldn’t be more proud than to be your parents. We love you to the moon and back. You have made life more joyful, and your sweet presence can make the worst day a bright one!

I thought about having a sweet little party for her first birthday, with cake and ice cream. Keeping it simple, ya know? Well, that’s what we did. We had a too. I was sad at first because it’s my LAST FIRST birthday. It is has to believe that we will never have another first birthday party. Caroline wasn’t a big fan of the cake or ice cream, however, she liked the ball that she received.

Love being outside
You have a fondness for balls and books.
Loves to help with reorganization in any of my cabinets, closets, toilets, you name it.
DSC_0507This is most likely the last summer I will ever have a 1 yr old toddling through the house.

This week was Summer SonSeekers at Second. It is our VBS. This year’s theme was Agape League. Fun was hd by all of the Perdue Crew. We enjoyed crazy hair day, superhero day, sports day and tacky day. Mostly, are thankful for a church that loves our children enough to teach them the Word of God and its truths. We are blessed!!

Last Day of School

The boys finished their first year at Veritas. It was a great year for them both. It wasn’t with out bumps in the road, but it was still given two thumbs up at when it was all said and done. The last day of school was field day for the boys.

IMG_7029 IMG_7032 IMG_7033Sadie enoyed her last day of school princess party. As you can see, the her class only had four little girls in it all year. They had a fabulous time with Ms. Garner. Just Fabulous!!IMG_7039 IMG_7040 IMG_7041

Happy Kindergarten Gradiation Anna Kate!

This is the first time any of my children have participated in kindergarten graduation. She had a wonderful year and it was such a blessing to have her at ten the kindergarten at our church. However, next year she will get to be home with me for the most part. She is looking forward to school with Mommy.

Spring Update

I’m such a bad blogger. Ever since Caroline entered our life things have not slowed down.

Our school year ended in May and we have hit the ground running with a trip the lake, beach retreat, baseball camps, VBS, swimming lessons, and so many more fun things planned for this summer. Hopefully, I will get all of it updated before winter arrives. Here are some pictures from spring time.

IMG_6913 Judd will still fall asleep anywhere and he is 7 years old. It cracks me up. He just disappears and then we find him someone knocked out.

IMG_6929 I hate pictures of myself but I’ve started seeing value in them even if I’m uncomfortable., so here’s a little selfie fun with Jake.

Anna Kate and Daddy are superman at school today. IMG_6986 IMG_6999

This is just a glimpse in of what two minutes can look like in the life of Sadie.

Mother’s Day is always a blessed day in our home. My family is awesome…beautiful and chaotic yet awesome.

A May Update

School is ending. Summer is coming. We are excited around here. I am so ready to savor some summer days by the pool, trips to the beach and Wild Adventures. I love the non-school schedule, but I have some to realize that we still need a schedule after about 8 weeks.

This summer I will have a 9, 7, 6, 3 and 1 year old. This is the only summer that they will be those ages. I only have 9 more summers with Jake. Just NINE more!!!

I thought I would post some pictures of the kiddos minus Anna Kate.

Sweetly Six

All Images © Ashlee Culverhouse Photo 2012

Even though six does sound so old to me, you are still a little girl. My little girl. You love dolls, dress up, books, coloring, and make believe. You love to perform on stage. We can always planned to be entertained by your love for Frozen songs or any new song you’ve learned recently.

DSC_0246You love your friends and talk about them often. You develop friendships very deeply at such a young age. You still miss Cassidy. Your best friends are your siblings, but you especially love playing with Judd for hours in far away lands. We know that you live in your own little world at times, but its okay because they all know you there.

I am so thankful for you, my sweet daughter. I pray that the things that I am trying to teach you in these early years will stay with you for a lifetime. You amaze us daily with your love for people, your caring heart, and your prayers. The Lord has gifted you with an amazing prayer life at a mire age of 6. I pray that you will never loose the desire to talk and learn from your Savior. He is the only one that can save you. He is ever present and friend at all times.   Mommy and Daddy, can see your mind starting to wrap around the concepts that we have been teaching you since birth. We pray that you choose to embrace them and use them to turn a bad attitude into a thankful one, or a hurtful situation into a reason to pray.

I know the lessons I have learned from you in six years: You have taught to me to enjoy creativity, to not see everything in black and white, that its ok to skip through life worry free sometimes and to appreciate each moment.

You bring me such joy! And that’s why I celebrate you today.
