75. Forgiveness, a God who forgives…

The verdict is….

While I was home when Jim was in Jamaica I made the major hair decision:

I like it short and Jim is partial to my short hair also. I think the problem will be maintenance.  It is already too long so I will need to get it cut again in the next couple of months. By the way, this is the wrinkle face picture that I was discussing in this post. Hopefully, I can get a better one or use a little Photoshop soon. HA!!

Oh yeah, just so I don’t forget. Jake was squeezing my forearms yesterday and I said “What are you doing?” He said “They are so squishy. I just love them.”

I love that kid, he is here to keep my humble for sure!

Basketball 2010-2011

Gooooo Crosspointe! We our undefeated! It was a great season. The boys thoroughly enjoyed playing and Coach Greg did a great job teaching them all. We can’t wait until next year. Now we move right on to T-ball.

Jake watches as he shots and scores. He is #12 on the end.

 Look at Judd go!

4 Months and Counting

Today my babygirl turned 4 months old. I am still kind of confused as to how this has happened so quickly. It just doesn’t seem right. I have recounted the months several times today. Nonetheless, I still reach the same conclusion, she is 4 months old.

Let’s be real here, I am still emotional, still desire to have my pre-pregnancy body and at least 4 hours of consistent sleep, tears are never far away (which probably has a lot to do with my lack of sleep), but I am deeply in love with this little girl.

Sadie Grace, you are a momma’s girl in every way possible. To be honest, it is quite ridiculous and to the extreme at times. Your brothers just want to hold you but you cry every time they try. You pitch a fit in the nursery and they have to call me to come get you.  Your adorable smiles melt my heart and you are quite the conversationalist. We all enjoy hearing you jabber through out the day. The boys are quite good at making you smile just as long as they don’t try to hold you.

Tonight on your four month birthday, we let you try cereal for the first time. It was definitely a family affair. Everyone wanted to watch you and see how you would respond while eating the cereal. You did a great job at first and then you decided that you didn’t want to try anymore.

You are rolling over from you belly to your back. You have found your feet and love grabbing them. It will not be too long before you are putting them in your mouth. You are also grabbing and playing with your toys.  You love to be held so you can stand up and jump.jump.jump. I just love it when you grab my face an pull it towards you and give me a big open mouth kiss. Too sweet! You thought about starting to suck your thumb, but I quickly reminded you that it wasn’t acceptable behavior in our home.:-)

These four months have been full of emotions and questions. It is taking a little longer than I expected to adapted to having four little ones running around, but it is getting easier (a little). At times, your sleeping patterns are that of a newborn not a four month old infant. You are still nursing for long periods of time and I keep anticipating the time when you will nurse in less time and drop at least one feeding at night.

Yes, I know that this season will soon pass but it is a struggle some days and nights. So right now, I do want I can, even though it feels like precious little. I cherish slobbery kisses, changing diapers, picking up Legos, making dinner, giving four kiddos baths, changing wet sheets at 3:00 a.m., playing a game of UNO,  and admiring a beautiful dress-up outfit

Galatians 6:9 says: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Out of the Mouth of Jake!

If you have been reading my blog for awhile then you know that Jake is my child who keeps me humble. Today is no different.

Here goes nothing:
Jim is in Jamaica on a Mission Trip. He sent me a text today asking me send him a picture of me smiling. I didn’t want to but I decided that I would since I miss him. I then proceeded to use my camera phone to take the “perfect” picture. You know, the one where your head isn’t tilted to much, eyes are squinted to much, not cheesing to much, etc…blah blah! Yes, I still want him to think I am beautiful.

Well….after taking too.many.pictures. with out any luck I decided to get Jake’s advice. BIG MISTAKE!

I started scrolling through the pictures:
Me: what about this one?
Jake: no

Me: what about this one?
Jake: no
Me: what about this one?
Jake: no
Me: what about this one?
Jake: no

He finally looked at me and said…..drum roll!!!

Mommy, you have too many wrinkles on your face in these pictures. I wasn’t sure if I should cry or laugh. I laughed! BIG MISTAKE!

Jake: “See mommy, they are right there on your face when you laugh.”
Me: Yeah they are! ( He was just vocalizing what I was thinking in my head the whole time.)
Jake: Do I have those?
Me: No
Jake: Will I?
Me: Yeah, when you get old!

End of conversation!
Good thing I have already hooked that handsome fella, Jim Perdue.

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30
Lord, I pray that I am continually a woman who fears YOU!

And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

    I love this girl!

    She:

    • is a joy.
    • wears me out.
    • gives random hugs and kisses.
    • plays Jim’s pretend guitar every night after family worship is over.
    • is entirely to smart to be 2.
    • is whiney.
    • unbearable at times.
    • not nice and down right mean. (this is usually right after she has just given you a great big hug and kiss.)
    • says “I love you second.” after I say “I love you the most.”
    • argumentative.
    • loves to play dress-up
    • thinks all baby dolls should be naked.
    • loves ribbons, bows, and barrettes.
    • is addicted to milk.
    • hard headed.
    • stubborn. (don’t those two mean the same thing)
    • is a quality time girly.
    • my shadow.
    • my mini-me.
    • independent. (wants to get it herself, dress herself, and do it by herself)
    • wants the door closed with light and fan on while she is going to the bathroom.
    • wants you to “get out, please” while she is in the bathroom.
    • says “come play with me.”
    • is teachable, moldable, fearfully and wonderfully made just as God planned
    I love this girl!
